I am pleased to welcome you to your new 5th grade classroom, 5A, at Archway Lincoln! My name is Ms. Kimberly Felix and I'm excited to be your teacher this year. I look forward to meeting you and your parent(s) at Meet the Teacher night and the First Day of School. This will be my first year at a Great Hearts school, but my 6th year teaching. I have previously taught elementary ages in the East Valley. I am a native to Arizona and grew up in Mesa and I now live in Chandler with my two children, 14 years old and 17 years old. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Psychology and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education at Northern Arizona University. Joining us this year will be our Teacher's Assistant, Miss Alford. She was previously a Teacher's Assistant last year at Archway Lincoln. Miss Alford and I are excited for this year and look forward to a rigorous, engaging, and enjoyable 2016-2017 year. First Day of School!!!First Day of School is Thursday, August 4th and it is a FULL day, dismissal is at 3:20 pm. Start time for school (7:40 am doors to school open, and 8:00 the day begins.) We recommend students arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of school. As soon as you arrive at school you will walk to the classroom, 5A, where Miss Alford and I will be eagerly waiting for your arrival. Please be on time. The beginning of the new school year is always exciting. There are many changes and many possibilities ahead for learning and growing academically, socially, and morally. We will explore some amazing people, places and events. We will delve into the Civil War and learn about many great civilizations. No hot lunches will be served the first week of the new school year, so please be sure to pack a snack, a lunch, and water bottle each day during this time.
